DCW Large

High-capacity water disinfection for large water systems

The DCW Large is a high-capacity water disinfection unit designed for facilities with substantial water demand. It produces the disinfectant Neuthox® on-site using only salt, water and electricity and helps control bacteria and biofilm without hazardous chemicals.

The unit is used in large applications where reliable and safe operation is essential, such as wastewater reuse, industrial process water, cooling towers and livestock water systems.

Case: Documented results from wastewater plant

A large Danish wastewater treatment plant has safely reused treated wastewater for more than 10 years, saving an average of 60,000 m³ of drinking water and DKK 548,000 every year. The water is disinfected with our solution.

Documented safety

Neuthox is classified as non-hazardous according to EU regulation, which means:

How much water can DCW Large treat?

The table shows the approximate amount of water that each DCW Large T25 model can treat per day in typical applications. The first column shows the unit's Neuthox production capacity in litres per hour (l/h), while treated water capacity is shown in cubic metres per day (m³/day). Actual capacity depends on the specific application and the required dosing level.

Neuthox production
500 parts per million (ppm)
Wastewater reuse
10–15 ppm
Process water
0.5–2 ppm
Livestock water
5 ppm
125 l/h 167–250 m³/day 625–2,500 m³/day 500 m³/day
200 l/h 267–400 m³/day 1,000–4,000 m³/day 800 m³/day
250 l/h 333–500 m³/day 1,250–5,000 m³/day 1,000 m³/day
300 l/h 400–600 m³/day 1,500–6,000 m³/day 1,200 m³/day
400 l/h 533–800 m³/day 2,000–8,000 m³/day 1,600 m³/day

The treated water capacity is based on 20 hours of Neuthox production per day. Neuthox is stored in a tank to ensure continuous dosing and protection 24/7.

Cooling towers

The capacity requirement for cooling towers is calculated differently because water continuously evaporates and part of the water is discharged from the system. The table below provides an indication of the recommended Neuthox production capacity for different cooling tower sizes.

Neuthox production Cooling tower size
125 l/h (LC) 3,000 kW
4,000 kW
250 l/h (LC) 5,000 kW
6,000 kW

Larger cooling towers may require multiple units.
